Anyone had success selling Lego on Vinted?

Anyone managed to sell Lego sets on Vinted?

Ones that have been opened and used, but all pieces intact?

With the price these sets cost new, you'd think there would be lots of interest in them!

Have you still got the boxes and the instructions?

BettyYeti1 · 16/01/2026 15:16

Yip, boxes and instructions included

My son has had more success with eBay. But this was the run up to Christmas. Not sure how it would be now.

I've bought from eBay. But it is a bad time post Christmas

SpikeGilesSandwich · 16/01/2026 16:21

I buy most stuff, especially toys secondhand but I’d be wary of Lego sets because just one tiny missing piece can bugger the whole thing up and would be incredibly frustrating.

Funnily enough, I thought January would be a bad time for selling anything on Vinted but I've sold more in Jan than I did in Dec......just not the Lego sets!

I'm only trying to sell the ones that have all the pieces but I suppose folk are maybe wary, when they are opened and not brand new.

Unfortunately part of the experience of Lego is getting an unopened brand new set.

However, having said that, it's often best to invest in some pieces, as they become collectors items and go up in value.

Someone bought my son the Technics Helicopter 9396 years ago, for approx £75. It is now worth over £200.

Now I'm off to browse Lego on Vinted, as his birthday is coming up😁

😁 Thanks everyone.

Just not relishing the prospect of having to rebuild them all again in order to take new photos if I have to relist them!

I bought a set off Vinted for my son for Christmas. The max I wanted to spend was £10 though (rrp £40)

what sets or prices are yours (very high?) I didn’t want to gamble on a v expensive one in case it was missing pieces

BettyYeti1 · 16/01/2026 21:00

Most are under £10 so I'd have thought they would have sold. One larger one, but price still less than half what it would be to buy new.

I wonder if people aren't buying so many toys on Vinted. I've really sold very little toys and mainly just books and clothes.

Just wondered if others had noticed the same. It's quite unpredictable what sells and what doesn't.

I have always sold easily - but then I do feel I price fairly cheaply and always take a photo of it built to prove I’ve made sure the pieces are there. They’ve been Star Wars sets mostly so not sure if going to a child or adult when they’ve been purchased.

BettyYeti1 · 16/01/2026 21:02

Yeah I've been doing that, photo of it built, the box, instructions etc.

Just getting sick of tripping over them in my house now! Seems a shame to just charity shop them, but might end up going there just to get rid

have you looked at bricklink or brickowl as alternatives to vinted?

elliejjtiny · 16/01/2026 21:10

My dh sells his lego on brick link. This is new in box stuff though.

shellyleppard · 16/01/2026 21:12

@BettyYeti1 there are lots for sale on eBay. As previous posters have mentioned its the risk of a part being missing that is the biggest worry....

MrsKateColumbo · 16/01/2026 21:14

I buy lego in vinted and see stuff selling quite regularly, hope yours sell soon!
