Recommendations for a thank you gift

Am looking to send a friend a thank you gift but don’t really want to do flowers. Was thinking maybe brownies or biscuits. Any recommendations? I have had Biscuiteers before and I don’t remember them being very nice. She has been an exceptionally good friend to me recently but I have not known her for very long at all so don’t know her well (I know that does not make sense). Single, mid 40s, no children. Very full on job and studying part time every weekend. She also has a broken ankle! Thanks for any recommendations or other ideas.

Biscuits/brownies/ nice chocs….you sound like a good friend, she’s lucky to know you!

Maybe a non food gift ? You must know the colours she wears , so a nice scarf & gloves ( plain ) in a colour she likes / matches her coat .

Gimme brownies are fabulous. I've used them for gifts and few times after receiving them myself, delicious.

Have only met her in the flesh a couple of times so not sure on colours.

@TartanMammy will check out Gimmee brownies.

thanks all

I had afternoon tea hamper sent when I gave birth. It was lovely, really beautifully done and delicious. My mum had used a local to me small business/ bakery.

What about a coffee shop voucher ,that way she can choose a cake and hot drink of her choice.

Some great ideas. Thank you. Will not see her until end of April as we live 300 miles apart.

A voucher and a thank you card ?

Sharpkat · 12/01/2026 19:21

@YogaLitewill definitely be thank you cards from me and my mum. Had thought about a voucher for a takeaway as knows she likes one but it seems quite transactional.
