Low tyre pressure - cold weather?

The low pressure warning light has come up on our car. I know it could be a slow puncture, but what are the chances of it being due to the cold weather?

We've got a pressure gauge/foot pump at home, so I'm going to have a go at checking tyres/pumping up - in reality I haven't got a clue what I'm doing. However, if it's likely to be a slow puncture, I just want to get it sorted now. DH isn't well at the moment, and I really need to have a car available.

I always get it during cold spells.

Yes, it's more likely to be the cold weather. Mine came on yesterday morning but went off again later in the day when it was a bit warmer.

It's worth investing in a digital tyre inflator as they are reliable and quick to use. They are around £30.

Yes in my previous car (a brand new mini) it would always come on in cold weather. Drive it round the block and it’ll likely resolve itself.

As it happens, it looks like we've got a digital one - it's normally a husband job, but not today😐.
