Do you have a successful side hustle? What do you think of this idea?

I've been thinking about selling workshops/lessons on either TPT or TES (or possibly Etsy?) as I have a huge collection of ones I've created (and delivered) for ESL primary-aged children over the years. They're all organised by topic, with materials needed, prep instructions, SEN considerations, learning outcomes/aims etc just ready to print and use.

Would this be something that would sell? I've occasionally downloaded resources myself, but the quality has been mixed, which is why I've usually resorted to creating my own. DeepSpaceSparkle has some fabulous art lessons that I've used as-is, but the ESL sites are often very disappointing.

Any thoughts or advice very appreciated!

ESL meaning English as a second language? What are your professional qualifications? My mother was an ESL teacher for decades, mainly of refugees and then later of students who were improving their English before starting uni courses in an English speaking country. She had specific qualifications in it and was very unimpressed with the idea that anyone who can speak English can teach it.

What is your target market - adults or children? What income bracket? If people like brand new refugees, will they even have the English to find your product? If you mean international students, they likely want a professional setting. I would think for this to work you’d need to persuade schools/colleges/charities to recommend your materials, or better still buy them to provide, but again, what qualifications do you have to get them to pick your stuff?

Some teachers seem to do really well on TPT but I'm often surprised by other teachers paying for resources. I know people do, but I refuse to spend my own money for work and on things I can make myself!

I make a very small amount of money on TPT, although don't have much on there. I would say go for it if you've already created the resources.

@OneWildNightWithJBJ Can I ask why TPT rather than TES?

Target would be adults who are teaching or facilitating English as a second or foreign language. I'm not in the UK and do both (one in a school, one through an English-speaking organisation).

I suppose I see TPT as more creative and similar to what I do anyway, like selling art downloads. I never really thought of selling on TES.
