ABBA Voyage - Hotel help

Mainly where to stay!

I’ve been gifted tickets to see ABBA Voyage, coming from Scotland. I’ve been to London many times but my partner hasn’t. I’ve stayed in the Premier Inn Hub at Shoreditch the last few times I’ve been with friends (own rooms) but that might be a little tight for the two of us so I‘m thinking a non hub Premier Inn, but where? I’m not familiar with what is close to what line. I’ve read Central and the DLR are handy to get to the arena.

I don’t want to be too far West as that might be a pain to get to Stratford however don’t really want to stay in Stratford or Canary Wharf way as we’ll no doubt want to do central tourist stuff. We’re only going to be there for a couple of days, 3 at most and will be coming/leaving from Kings Cross.

So, any decent Premier Inns that are handy for lines to get to the ABBA arena that come recommended and don’t have too many changes?!

We stayed in docklands when we went to Abba Voyage. It's fine for getting in and out of Central London, especially with the Elizabeth line. We stayed in the Novotel because there was a roof top bar and small pool.
The view from my window up the river was beautiful. The breakfast delicious.
(We are normally premier inn customers, this was more expensive but felt nicer to worth it.)

Oh thanks I’ll check that out. Roof top bar is a pull!

We've stayed at the one at Farringdon a few times. It's usually cheaper than the ones on the South Bank or Leicester Square. It's right next to a tube station so easy to find.

Depending on when you are going there are a few hotels to stay in and around Kings Cross/Euston. We often stay at The Crestfield Hotel, Euston for around £95 per night. Like many of the backpacker style accommodation - the rooms are basic, with TV, comfy bed, en suite shower room, tea/coffee making facilities - no lifts at this particular hotel and rooms are snug. Easy walking distance to the station for Rail and Underground/Bus routes. So a good base for doing the sights!!
But Premier Inn at Euston will set you back upwards of a couple of hundred quid if not more - dependant on what events are going on in London. But Abba Voyage is a brilliant show!

Maybe easier and cheaper to stay Canary Wharf and have an easier journey back from ABBA Voyage that night. It’s fast in and out
of town from CW and fast to and from the arena. And hotels are usually a lot cheaper than central. Or do one night there, two nights in town.

We stayed at a Premier Inn Canary Wharf (West Ferry), right next door to the DLR. It was really cheap - about £70 if I remember rightly. Really handy for ABBA Voyage.

I know you said not Stratford but the Premier Inn at Stratford Westfield is walking distance from ABBA Voyage and it is now only 13 mins on the Elizabeth Line from Stratford to Oxford Street.

The evening show is not long, you are on the DLR back to London by 10pm. Also there is nothing near the arena apart from the bar next door, it’s 1 stop to Westfield for food options before the show. Finally check the West Ham fixtures as the stadium is near by and shares the DLR stop.

Thanks all, some great suggestions. I’m noting them all down. Maybe reconsider CW and over that way potentially. I don’t mind the tube at all and find it fine to navigate with my Citymapper app but I think my partner has visions of constantly being on trains and not seeing much!

We miss it thankfully and the closest game date wise is away, phew.
