Which advert that you KNOW advertises something that probably doesn't work do you still watch and go..."hmm. Maybe..."

Honestly I am pathetic. I have owned a flash speed mop, it was not amazing. I recently spent £400 on a dyson mop that I want to beat myself over the head with repeatedly because I fell for the hype and it really, really isn't that good. And yet. Every time I see the goddam ad for the New Speedmop and see the dog pawprints and spillages disappear leaving the gleaming floor with no effort, not only do I want to buy the arsing mop but also black and white kitchen tiles that will obviously shine like that should I get one. I cannot pretend this is the only ad that I am suckered by and pay more money than I should on going ad free, possibly because I may get divorced if not 😂 Not the only one...right??

I'm clearly odd, but my brain switches off when adverts come on the TV or the computer screen. I specifically don't look or engage with them and even scroll past the 'sponsored' search options on google on purpose. Half the time I don't even know what they are selling.

Me too. I have never watched any YouTube ad the second after the lovely little "skip" icon appears.

As for the others, ignore, mute or delete.

I put it down to age (closer to 70 than not). Just because it's on a screen doesn't mean I have to watch it.

Me too. I am very good at filtering out stuff I am not interested in.

I used to laugh at my at mum for being gullible enough to buy every supplement and jump on every health fad going, back when I was a know it all 20-something science graduate and she was late 40s and feeling 'a bit run down'..... Oh, if only I had known then the desperation caused by perimenopause and feeling older all of a sudden! I currently have magnesium tablets, do intermittent fasting, biotin, collagen powder, lions mane, iron, vit D, B12, some protein powder and am probably only days away from adding creatine to the list... I know it's mostly marketing but I just can't help myself wondering if it's the cure for my saggy skin, thin hair, expanding waistline etc!!

Ok just seen a Korean Botox cream advert which looks amazing but definitely falls into this category!
