What passive/aggressive Christmas gifts did you receive?

I unwrapped the wee gift from my boss on Xmas day to find one of those stress ball things - ‘don’t stress, just squish’ on the packaging.

Anyone else get anything a bit PA this year?

I think some people are just looking to be offended.

It’s unanimous that I’m being a paranoid overthinker and this isn’t entirely out of character 😂 so I will take it 💐

Maybe a panic buy? At best it sounds like she didn't know what to get either of you but liked the pottery and took a punt. To be honest, I'd be delighted with something like that and it wouldn't bother me that she'd gifted something similar to another family member. Having said that, I'm not a "matchy sets" kind of person. (All my plates and serving dishes could be best described as pick and mix.)

Overall, I just really don't like to attribute negative motives to people buying me presents. That just seems a miserable way to look at life.

I think it’s mainly down to people just not liking someone and therefore attributing a negative intention to their gift giving.

Why do people spoil Christmas by over-analysing every gift they receive as automatically having some loaded PA message attached to it. You must be really miserable in your life to turn a simple Christmas gesture into an act of hate and violence. No wonder this world is going to hell in a handcart!

I got an obviously regifted jumper, doesn't look worn but a bit musty smelling and I remember seeing it in the shops a couple of years ago but it's pure cashmere and must have been over £100 new. So I'll stick it in the feezer for a couple of days, hand wash it and wear it!
