My toddler loves the bath and playing with water. She also loves dolls atm. I thought I was so clever getting her a toy baby for the bath that swims. She calls it ‘scary baby’ and now wont go in the bath!

My son loves magnatiles but we dont have many so got him a huge new set with extra bits. We got a polite “thank you but I already have some.” Box is unopened!

I think everything was OK yesterday, but last year, I bought teen DS a light up, fluorescent ‘band’ to wear so he’s visible when he runs in the dark. He loves running and all running kit, but that was an epic fail. He said he’d rather stop running than go out wearing a light up, glowing, body band!

When the dc were much younger I thought it was important that they appreciated how much they had, and that everyone in the world was not so lucky . So as well as the normal heap of presents I made donations in their names via oxfam. DD’s was a goat, and ds’ was manure.. both of which would hopefully help a family in the third world to become more self sufficient. I swear that if you asked them now to name a present they received as children Ds will vent about how I bought him poo… appears to have recollection of the piles of Lego, tech etc that I gave him over the years… just the poo!

My nephew loves pizza and cars. I got him a pizza van toy - nope, put it in the fireplace saying it’s for kids. He is 3.

My disabled ds did a list which was barely readable with four items on. No idea how but all we bought him was clothes and some ear buds! We spent about £150 on each child but dropped the ball by getting him £150 of clothes. He was so so funny and humble he had us in stitches by praying before opening then after a while. Poor ds. We even did a list of what we had bought for whom!

I suggested our 16 year old buy our 8 year old a Lidl Labubu thing after he said he wanted a monster Labubu and I dissuaded him from putting it on the Santa list. He was very, very unimpressed . Apparently it's not a monster one and not got the right number of teeth. He was pretty rude about it and we needed to have words.

Sol De Janerio gift set - she can’t use any of it apparently as it contains nuts and school friend is allergic. Didn’t even think about nut allergy and beauty products!

I bought teenager some cute tea spoons with an animal on them. They opened it and said, you bought me drug snorting spoons. I had 0 idea it was a thing. 😳
Thankfully it was not by any means their only gift.
