Makeup advice - dry skin

I am 34. I have never been a major makeup person. I dont have much of a skin routine. But I am wearing more makeup now due to a new job, and I have quite dry skin on my face. My nose, chin and forehead are quite dry, making my makeup always look scaley and horrible. My usual foundation is Charlotte Tilbury, and I do usually moisturise before putting anything on. I do also remove my makeup with "Simple" face wash and put a moisturiser on before bed.

What should I be doing or using? Any easy tips to help?

you need to expoliate.
either mechanically (flannel & srub wash)
or chemically using a aha/bha chemical exfoliator.

I have dry skin and use The Ordinary glycolic acid - get ‘new’ skin

I read that this will just make it worse, especially in the cold of winter. I did exfoliate with a rubber face exfoliating for a while during spring and summer but it didnt help at all.

I’d recommend medicube zero pore pads followed by weleda skin food and once that has absorbed fully some Lisa Eldridge skin tint.
i recommended the above to a friends daughter with similar skin to you and she’s getting on great with it.

Oh forgot to say, your simple wash may not be cutting it for make up removal, use an oil based cleanser first, the inkey list oat cleanser is fantastic, then a water based cleanser afterwards (which your simple one probably is, check the ingredients to be sure though)

This! And loads of moisturiser and hyaluronic acid. The latter two twice a day

I’ve had the same and it looked so bad halfway through the day at work and couldn’t do anything to fix it!
I started using blue Nivea cream (the original old fashioned one in a tub). It’s really thick but makes my skin so soft and now I no longer have flaky skin. I’ll use a scrub a couple of times a week as well but the one I use has been discontinued, I’ve had it for years - Superdrug optimum microdermabrasion one

I know this is an old thread but if you’re still having problems would a primer help?

Organic honey is a fantastic healing moisturising mask for sensitive skin. Spread it on lightly and leave it on for as long as you can, wipe off gently with a warm clothe.
