Did you sense labour was near in the hours/ days leading up to it? Or did it just start out of nowhere?

I'm doing allllllll of the things to induce myself. Sex, eating curry, sniffing essential oils, drinking raspberry tea etc.

And I still don't feel any different. 😬🤬😡

I wonder how most women feel pre- labour, whether there's a sense of 'something is going to happen tonight' or whether it just appears out of nowhere?

What was it like for you? Did you have any inkling? What was the first sign that things were starting?

DC1 it just started the eve of my due date. Dc2 was 13 days over, and the last 7 of them I was in slow labour, contracting mildly during the day and each day thinking ‘I think this is it now’ but having it all tail off when I went to bed. Then on day 13th having a last sweep to check things before having to go for induction and that got things going and she came in less than 2hrs after it.

Good luck op. Of course it’s all you can think about and easier said than done, but try to relax and enjoy your last days!

Nope, all four times it came out of nowhere. I did have a slightly unusual way of starting labour with my first born but I wouldn’t recommend it.

What is it?!

Well, we decided to try the ‘curry and a shag’ option, I was overdue and it was a heatwave so I was really uncomfortable and ready to have baby NOW! So husband made a lovely curry, used chillies that we grew ourselves from a little plant on the windowsill, wore gloves when cutting them up to be extra careful…

We head upstairs and I lie down, which was quite a performance in itself because I needed a pillow either side of me, a pillow under my neck to stop my boobs from suffocating me and a pillow under my bum to make me accessible.

Husband gets started and I think, ‘oh that’s quite nice’. Then ‘oh that’s a bit weird’ and finally ‘arghhh what have you done?’ Turns out he had a chilly seed stuck in his teeth and had completely covered my labia with it. I screamed and tried to roll off the bed but I was imprisoned by the pillows, it took 3 big rolls for me to actually get to standing and I ran down the stairs and into our bathroom which was at the end of the kitchen. Husband followed with litres of milk from the fridge to douse me with.

I went into labour the next morning, but like I said, I don’t recommend it.

Nope, I had no idea they were going to get elected again. Total shock.

With hindsight, a bit. Everything swelled up and I was really really slow for 2 days before. At the time, I thought it was just last pregnancy though, and like you was googling and falling to observe every possible symptom
