Lost a stone over a 4 month period, bmi now 24 but told I’m too slim

That’s it really. I was pleased with my progress (lost a stone in 4 months) and my aim was to be a bit lighter still so I can do some gymnastic body weight movements which I can’t do at present. The person who told me I’m too slim has never known me to be this slim, however I was lighter (bmi of 20) till a few years ago. It’s made me feel a bit rubbish. My friend is great in every way normally, she’s a similar size to me but different shape.

I found it’s often the people you’re not expecting that react in ways that feel hurtful. I saw people I’ve not seen for months over the weekend, long term friends but we now live far apart so not as close - they all, without exception were happy for me about my weightloss. My best friend seems to be having a really hard time with it however, lots of ‘concern’, telling me I look too thin (BMI 24) and in the next breath telling me how she’s got to lose weight “the hard way” rather than jabs 🙄 It’s making the friendship harder to maintain, I’m not sure she realises just how mean and unsupportive she sounds

Thankyou for all your insights, I feel a lot better about it. My target BMI is 22, so slap bang in the healthy range. I have Polycyctic ovaries so weight loss has been a slog.

Is the person who said this medically qualified?

If not, who cares?

If they are, ask them what you should do?
