Delay repay - they've sent too much!

Back in October I got caught up in some rail disruption and had to wait in the rain for a while then get a replacement bus. I arrived at my destination station 58 minutes late - 14.15 when I was due in at 13.17.

That night I put in a claim for Delay repay, I stated the delay as 30-59 minutes which entitles you to 50% of your ticket cost repayment.

I had forgotten about it tbh because it's been so long, they're meant to reply within 30 days but it's been nearly 60 days now but the train company finally emailed last night (!) and stated that I was getting a 100% repayment as the delay had been 60-120 minutes. But it wasn't! And I can see the details I submitted originally which definitely clearly state 30-59 minutes so it's not my mistake.

Should I contact them and say they've got it wrong? Or just take it and say nothing?

Say nothing obviously - why would you create a shitload of hassle for them and for yourself?

It may be that they've measured the timings slightly differently and it hit the 60 min mark? Or they've decided to round up? I'd just take the money.

Fuck that. If it would be a smooth process then I would. Just take the money.

The rail company won't come after me for a fraudulent claim will they? I've checked and double checked and it's definitely their mistake. My claim details say 30-59 mins but the email says they have verified the delay as over 120 mins 😬

I guess it's possible (though unlikely) that they'll follow up to say they have made a mistake and want the extra money back, but clearly you claimed for the delay you experienced so there can be no question of you having claimed fraudulently. Really, stop worrying about it.
