Help - kitchen cleaning gadget for person with sensory issues

Obviously like any good mum I am helping my teenager towards adulthood by insisting they do a fair share of domestic tasks (no more than what their dad or I do).

This isn't going brilliantly because one of the teenager's autism-related sensitivities is to do with hating the feel of touching wet cloths or wet kitchen roll.

Does some kind of thing exist which is like a plastic or metal handheld gripper that can have a microfiber cloth or sponge clipped into it which would allow them to scrub the work surfaces in the kitchen without touching anything damp directly.

I'm trying to avoid a future once they leave home where they are either freeloading on an unfortunate partner who has to do all the cleaning, or them living in a toxic petridish where surfaces only get wiped when I or a paid cleaner visit.

Any ideas?

Rubber gloves?

Marigolds 😄

Another vote for rubber gloves and no pandering to this shit.

Yes, you can get scrubbers with a handle attached and the idea is you put washing up liquid in the handle which comes through to the sponge. It’s originally designed for washing up but I see no reason why you couldn’t spray the work surface then wipe it using the scrubber’s handle.

Like this.

(I imagine the OP’s DC may not like the feeling of marigolds to those who have suggested it.)

I would suggest vinyl gloves over rubber. The powder inside the rubber ones can be an unpleasant sensation/experience if the person already has a bit of an aversion to stuff touching their hands (don't ask me how I know)
