DH and I were chatting, when we first moved to our town, we would frequently see a group of men in blankets playing.
I can't remember the last time I saw them.

Back to Peru?
Remember them well, they sold CDs of their music too. Wonder if anyone ever bought one.

I bought a CD years ago.

They’re alive and well in the Subway in New York! We saw them there in the summer-and I’m convinced it was the same one that used to be in my home town in the UK!

I reckon they have gone to their homeland as no one bought their cd's so they have flounced their way back home. It is likely that on the plane people paid them not to use their panpipes so they got annoyed and will only play in their hometowns or is this just my fantasy ?

Such a funny Southpark episode about Peruvian pan pipers 😁

TheAutumnCrow · 16/12/2025 15:48

Ah, Manuel and his Music of the Mountains. Aka Geoff Love, easy-listening band leader.

'Men in blankets' !!! 😂Ponchos?

I haven't seen any kind of Peruvian music buskers for decades. Maybe the same band would tour the UK for a while and then decided to move back and nothing has replaced them. Only guessing!

Anyone remember The Fast Show recurring sketch about the panpipers? They were hilariously terrible 😁

VeryQuaintIrene · 16/12/2025 16:00

Not far enough, IMO.

Pedallleur · 16/12/2025 18:10

As far away from me as possible (back to Peru and The Andes)
