Different Christmas decor taste to partner ..

Sorry if this is a lame question in advance!

My partner told me to take care of the Christmas decorations but then when I bought them.. I'm an argument he told me that they are everything that he hates... he likes classic and I like kitsch..

Now I need to buy lights for the front of the house - the ones I want to get are multicoloured... is it selfish of me to buy the ones I like knowing he probably won't be keen and would prefer plain?? Would you get the ones you like?

I like my outside lights and see them from the kitchen. I have gone a bit OTT this year but hey ho 😂

Hilarious that people are saying you don’t need outside lights because only the neighbours will see them. You could say the same about what colour you paint your front door or whether you have roses or daffodils or garden gnomes. I love the fact that other people make the effort, even though I’m too lazy to do it myself😆

Odd was to phrase it “TOLD you to take care of” . Does he tell you to do a lot of things?
Is this your first Christmas together and neither of you have existing decorations?
Gently in a healthy relationship if both of you have opinions on this sort of thing, there is compromise. Different zones, less tinsel perhaps.
