If you did your driving test in the last year, what manoeuvre(s) were you asked to do?

Just that really.
My daughter is doing her test in a couple of weeks, in London (mill hill) and wondering which ones get asked the most?
(Yes we will practice them all)😄

I had to park up on the right side of the road, reverse about 10ft and then rejoin traffic when safe to do so.

I think the main thing the examiner was looking for was my observations, because the manoeuvre itself was obviously pretty easy.

Mine was to pull up on the right and reverse so many car lengths. Stopping halfway to do all round observations again but when reversing looking out of the back window. My only advice would be if you (your daughter in this situation) think you’re checking your mirrors enough, do it even more!

Did mine in April. Forward bay park was the only manoeuvre I did. I was so glad I didn't have to do parallel park because even now I don't like it. I would have failed my test, if I had to do it.

ha, I've been driving too many years to mention and I still struggle with parallel parking.

I feel like parallel parking is the only bad one these days. Years ago, they used to make you do three point turns, reversing around a corner etc. lots of to worry about.

But these days, if you don't get parallel parking, you'll probably be okay.

Also - tell your daughter not to worry about driving perfectly. I had the worst drive of my life on my test, but still passed. You can have loads of 'minor' faults. I think it's something like 12.

They come up essentially evenly. Examiner guidance is to aim for an even spread of manoeuvres across tests (doesn't mean that they just do them in sequence though)

15 is the max, 16 is an automatic serious fault even if none are serious in themselves.

You can also get a serious fault for a repeated issue. Typically it is the fourth occurrence of a driving fault, but it could be more or fewer depending on the cirucmstances.

Both times parallel park (took test twice), stopped in a safe space and drove off a few times.

Reverse bay parking. It was probably the last time I did a reverse bay park, I just drive into them now and reverse out.

My son took his test on Tuesday and park on the right. He also took a test less successfully previously and had the same thing.

For the “show me, tell me” he had ABS light and tyre tread.
