At some point between the peri-menopause and post-menopause period did your hair seem to thin out and go frizzy - like it just happened overnight?

That's what seems to have happened to mine and it's like I've got brand new hair to learn to deal with. I've always had fine hair but lots of it. Now I don't. I've not had to do much to tame frizz and now I do. If I dry it, it looks awful; if I leave it to dry it looks awful.

Anyone have any top tips to share? 😩

Mine thinned a lot at the front. I have a mix of shampoos to use. There's an Elvive one + serum which is supposed to encourage growth and one which thickens the hair. I also have a Hask Biotin one and a Dessange one for grey hair. I'm not sure they actually do anything though.

I've just started taking Biotin supplements so it'll be a while to see if that has an effect.

The thing that makes a difference IMO, is cut. I have a pixie cut that I style with wax so relatively easy to keep it looking OK.

Mine has a kind of fluffiness about it now. I have a new hairdresser who does a good cut, she also taught me how to blow dry my hair property which helped.

I also stopped washing it every day on her recommendation.

I had this and lost so much hair, so quickly and patchily that I thought I was going bald. I even asked my hairdresser if she thought I was going to go bald and she said it was normal, a lot of people go through a thinning, frizzing stage.

In desperation about my hair and general state of decline I gave up alcohol and started eating a lot more healthily, lost three stone and my hair came back to normal. Post menopause now and my hair is thick and strong again.

Oh yes, fluffy. That describes it well.
