Went down a no entry road - chances of points?

Anyone know what the chances are of getting points if you’ve turned down a no entry/one way street?

Made a stupid mistake on Saturday while driving in a new town. I was following my satnav (not an excuse I do know this) and it said turn left and I turned too early into what I now know was a one way street with a no entry sign. I immediately did a u turn as there was another small road just a few meters up and went back out the correct way. I fully appreciate they are within their rights to fine me and give me points. I’m just wondering what the chances are of the points part actually happening? Couldn’t see any cameras but these days everything is on camera. I’ve been driving 30 years and I’ve had a clean license the whole time! I’m just really annoyed at myself for making a stupid mistake like that. It’s definitely made me realise I need to be more aware in future anyway.

Hardly any chance of anything happening. You made a small mistake, unlikely there were any cameras anyway, nobody got hurt and you didn’t hit another vehicle. I wouldn't be concerned in the least about any repercussions.

I did the same, camera got me. Got a fine, no points

I think it's more likely to be a fine than points? If anything at all.

If there's no camera, which if just a small road is pretty likely, chances are nothing will happen. A friend had a warning letter but nothing else doing the same thing once.

Even if you did get points you should get the option to do the driver awareness course instead but I think points would be quite unusual for that.

Don't stress too much, everyone makes mistakes.

I think the turnaround time to get any notification is quite short as well, so if you haven't heard anything in a few weeks assume nfa.

You'll just have to wait and see if you were spotted, I doubt it would be anywhere near a ban and you might get the option of attending a road safety course instead of points or a fine.
