Is there a quick way to de-bloat?!

I am going out out at the weekend and I'm really bloated. Is there anything I can do between now and Saturday that will actually help? Or do I just need to drink lots of water? Any OTC medicines etc I could take? I'll try anything!

Fasting, cut out carbs and exercise each day for 45-1hr - hit type stuff plus some yoga. The good is the main one though.

Peppermint tea.

Dry body brushing can help

I can't fit in lots of exercise but I can definitely fast, do dry body brushing and I have peppermint tea! So I'll do all those 👍🏻

Hot water with lemon in works a trick

Laxido

Try some Windeeze tablets. They really help me. Are you constipated or just bloated? Fasting as has already been said should work too

If you’re limited on time do a few yoga moves like cat/cow, happy baby, supine spinal twist and child’s pose.

Give up bread

I remember reading that a bath of magnesium/epsom salts is meant to de-bloat

Nelly1023 · 03/12/2025 22:20

Wild dose bloating tablets are really really good

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/12/2025 22:59

I don't think I have time to get Wild Dose but I can get windeze and I have dulcoease sachets I might take them for the next few days. I think it's mostly bloat but could be a bit constipation as well (sorry!) We don't have a bath so can't try that trick.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions I'm going to give it my best shot and will report back to army next week!

Mainly don't eat just drink water with a squeeze of lemon in and peppermint tea.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/12/2025 23:01

Don't know where the word army came into it?! But I'll report back anyway!

I suffer from IBS and SIBO and bloating/gas is a very common symptom for me.

I've tried many, many things to help but the most helpful for me is Bloateze, I always have several boxes around the house and in my bag.

Ginger tea always a good bet for me

  • Fast 16:8 (so only eat in an 8 hr window, you can drink water / fruit teas in the other 16 hours but no milk in tea etc. )
  • Try to keep under 800kcal a day - no carbs, minimal fruit, lots of veg and protein. Oily fish and lean meat (assuming you’re not veggie / vegan!).
  • Drink at least 2 litres water a day. Add lemon / mint etc for flavour.
  • Aim for 30-60 mins of exercise a day (even a brisk walk at lunch time will help if you’re pushed for time)
  • Dry body brushing
  • Epsom salts - if you don’t have a bath you can soak your feet in a bowl. The salts are absorbed through your body so will still have some effect.
  • Absolutely no sugar / refined carbs.
