Aged just 62. I’m genuinely sad to read this; although I never ate at Petersham Nurseries I had one of her cookery books and it was a revelation. And during her stint at Vogue I used to tear out the recipe pages and sellotape them inside my kitchen cupboard doors - I used them so regularly.

We ate at Petersham right at the beginning of her wonderful time there, it literally was scrubbed wooden tables amongst all the greenery, no faff or fuss and wonderful food.
She was an inspiration and an amazing chef as well as a lovely person.
What a star we have lost.

Indeed. There was a braised oxtail recipe that was one of the last meat dishes I cooked before the end of my carnivorous days. Still makes my mouth water even though I have no desire to ever eat meat again.

And her more summery dishes were so light and fresh and pure genius.

Her restaurant Spring was wonderful too. Simple ingredients just put together in the most wonderful way. A real talent.

I'm sad for her family too.
