TMI alert. I bleed ALL the time and I don’t think I can take it any more.

I’ve bitten the bullet and got myself a GP appointment who has since referred me for an ultrasound, a fit-kit, a swab and a blood test, so I’m doing all the right things. But it’s not for another couple of weeks.

I ‘bleed’ all the time. I’ll have a week or two off, and then back on. Current ‘bleed’ started mid Sept. It’s not blood, it’s brown/black sludge. I can’t not wear pads, I never have sex with my husband anymore. It’s awful and I am exhausted by it. GP was sympathetic and proactive at least. I have lost 30lbs in a year, lower abdominal pain on and off. I have a copper IUD.

Has anyone else experienced this? Every time I go to the bathroom and see more disgusting sludge coming out of me, I jsut want to cry.

I've been through that phone call and follow up twice, @TaylorSwiftsWeddingPlanner and it was nothing sinister. It can be quite common as we age for the endometrium to thicken. It's good you're getting checked out and hopefully everything will be clear for you. Flowers

@HollywentLightly did you have the biopsy and all that? Was it awful and painful? And did you find out there and then that it was ok? I'm not an anxious person but I have a lot of questions...

Caveat to all this, I'm not in the UK so different systems. First biopsy was done without much preamble and wasn't great but it was over quickly and I was fine to get the bus home after being told to wait 30 mins to be sure I was OK. The second was under general as the consultant recommended a hysteroscopy and d&c too and after the first I took her advice! I had to wait about a week for the results. Fingers crossed yours is similar.

Copper iud made my periods much worse. I had mirena fitted instead and it helped so much
