Saturday night - what’s for dinner? - having a drink? - what are you up to?

It’s cold and miserable here and I’m skint til pay day. We’re having a dirty Saturday night tea of proper chicken Kyiv, big fat chips & veggies. Currently slurping on what’s left of last nights white wine and contemplating a Christmas film instead of Strictly, maybe The Holiday…What are you all up to?

We had an interesting night last night as we all got home from work/school to no water. Thames Water have been doing some work on the local pipes, they switched the water off and forgot to switch it back on before they went home for the day. It was finally back on about 8.30am so we had laundry, washing up and cleaning the (revolting) loos to sort out this morning. I’ve been to a routine hospital appointment, DD is on her way back from the cinema with friends, DS has been out on a run. DH has been baking all afternoon (brownies & banana bread) the kitchen smells divine. He’s also cooking dinner, not too sure what we’re having but he spent a couple of years as a chef so it’s bound to be amazing. I’d quite like a glass of wine but am in my PJ’s already, it’s warm in the house and miserable outside so probably won’t bother. Definitely a film later with the cat on my lap if she’s in the right mood 🤣

Loving reading about all your lovely cosy evenings. So many fires/logburners, candles, twinkly lights and yummy food. We are all very fortunate to be safe and warm with our loved ones.

Weather cold and rainy and a day mostly at home, heating on, sorting and cleaning for us. DD (6) ‘helped’ and watched tv. I got a weights workout in. We went for a walk in the dark to see Christmas lights. DH made a cooked breakfast this morn and a lovely cottage pie for dinner. He’s working tonight so DD & I are watching Ratatouille for the 1000th time before she goes to bed then I will either shower / hot tub and watch something for me.

I said this to DH earlier, how lucky we were to be driving home with a car boot full of food, to our warm and cosy home to hang out with people who we love. Annoyed at the cost of food and having to crack the tumble dryer out due to weather, but not unable to be able to buy the food or dry the clothes.

Thanks but I couldn't find it on their website

The Spoons one is delicious, I had a curry too & the total price was about £8.50!
