Excellent cushioned slippers

I’ve got plantar fasciitis and I’m really struggling for what to wear indoors now it’s cold.
I normally have fluffy boot style slippers from Next which have a bit of underfoot padding but it condenses to nothing by the end of each winter. I bought myself a pair of fit flops flip flops which I’ve been using until now, and the cushioning is excellent but I can’t afford their slippers.

has anyone got any suggestions for anything warm and with cushioning that lasts?

I add memory foam insoles to my new slipper boots, before they go flat.

I found a pair of these in TK Maxx for £15. They're like Birkenstocks. Just a good and much cheaper. I'd buy more for sure. I also have PF.

I have these which are really comfortable. Skechers Women's Keepsakes https://amzn.eu/d/0FmIM28
I bought them at £19.50 which they currently are but the price seems to fluctuate alot (I was watching to buy my mum a pair after she saw mine).

Thank you for the replies! I definitely can’t afford the Fit Flop ones so I’ll investigate these suggestions.

I get any slippers with a proper sole and ideally a reasonable amount of cushioning, then put in a pair of Scholl plantar fascitis insoles. I like the boot-style slippers for warmth so have had ones from Fat Face, Seasalt etc, but it's less important which when you have the insoles. You just need to make sure there's enough room to put them in, so size up if they're on the small size maybe.

Sainsbury's have good arch support ones.

Oooh, I hadn’t even thought of trying to get insoles. That’s a good idea because I could use them in my regular shoes too. I’m struggling permanently, but changing between various pairs of trainers and walking boots means I can just about manage out and about, hence the focus on slippers. But something all round would be a bonus.

I have two pairs of insoles so I can keep one in my slippers and one in my trainers without having to keep fiddling around. The recommendation I was given a while back was to "get some neutral Brooks trainers and wear them all the time", which I do (except at home) but swapped out the insole for my other pair of Scholl ones. I wouldn't say it was an immediate fix so can't be sure if that was the reason, but mine DID get better after a while and so far has stayed gone. If I need to wear other shoes for a bit then I just transfer the insoles.

Fit Flop slippers are so good though, I credit them alone with curing my PF. I bought my last few pairs from MandM for about £30 and they last me a whole year.

The first response days ago was to suggest insoles... 🙃

Sorry @CatsorDogsrulesnd thank you too for the idea.

Primark memory foam mule type slippers. I found them unused in a charity shop for £3. They felt really weird at first, but now I absolutely love them - super comfy & warm. Other slippers just feel sad in comparison!

I suffered terribly with PF and wear Crocs as my slippers. Proper ones, not the knock off versions. Normal ones in the summer and fluffy lined ones in the winter and they've been a game changer.

Definitely get yourself some arch support insoles too. Mine were relatively cheap off Amazon but over time I've bought more pairs and put them in the majority of my shoes and boots.

I was suffering badly with PF a couple of years ago and literally hobbling but now I don't have any issues..... although I very rarely go barefoot nowadays and stick to wearing my Crocs in the house just in case.

therewasafishinthepercolator · 26/11/2025 07:50

Agree with Crocs too, op, if you'd consider them?

I swapped my slippers for Crocs when I got PF and it was a game changer. I credit Crocs at home / good running shoes when out and daily PF stretches/exercises as solving the issue.

I swore I'd never have a pair of ugly Crocs but I love them. Got them half price. Thinking of getting the fur lined ones for coziness.
