Talk to me about water flossers or other home dental kit

I'm thinking of buying Dave a water flosser for Xmas.

Are they any good? Are they easy to use?
Or is there any other home dental kit you'd recommend?

Thanks so much.

dental professionals don’t recommend them over manual internal cleaning, only as an addition if wished, money is best spent on a hygienist visit, they can help the patient with internal cleaning technique too. you won’t like this but you did ask

they’re not a substitute for brushing and flossing BUT a great addition for gum health.
Not that expensive and easy to use.
I like my cordless (rechargeable) Water Pic and use it regularly in the shower.

Just realised the autocorrect in my OP 😅

It was meant to say 'DP'.

DP isn't even called Dave!!

Thanks for the comments @BreakingBroken What make do you have? I've been looking at the Phillips Sonicare.

My dentist and hygienist recommended them to me.
I found it difficult to use and a bit unnerving and after a few sessions of basically jet washing the bathroom I gave up.

WaterPik cordless
Costco purchase a few years back (two pack) it’s not the kind of thing I’d share.

They are better than doing nothing but nowhere near as good as normal flossing/interdental brushing. If he has any kind of gum issues, which most people do after a certain age, it's better to do it the old fashioned way.

If he literally doesn't floss then it's a good thing to get. Otherwise not so much. This is what I've heard quite a few senior dentists saying.
