Very tired after deep filling

I just had a deep filing at dentist and had a lot of injection. I feel exhausted and am honestly and in bed and just want to sleep. My face is still somewhat numb but not as numb as it was 3 hours ago. I've had root canal before and didn't feel like this

I always feel a bit drained after intense dental work, it an be quite brutal. Be kind to yourself and rest.

I'm just back from the dentist after a similar thing and I've been thinking the same. To be honest the fact it's blowing a hoolie outside doesn't help.

Mine was my first procedure with a new dentist, who seems much more generous with the numbing than my old one, which I am very happy about but I do wonder if it's had a wider effect of making me just want to go to bed!

A lot of your reaction is relief if you were stressed about the appointment/treatment.
I was there on Wednesday!!🥴

I had a relatively small filling a few weeks ago, but because of its position, I had a large injection in my gum and two in the roof of my mouth. I felt really strange for the rest of the evening and just not right, like I wasn't quite "with it". I've had lots of dental work in the past but never felt like that before. Are they putting valium in the local anaesthetic? (joking!).

I dont like having fillings. I am anxious but am not so anxious that I need sedation. I think k my anxiety comes from a previous dentist who wasn't very good and didn't numb me up properly and a simple filling hurt. My current dentist numbs me up properly and it's not painful but I dont like the noise of the drill

I bet your cortisol levels are sky high and while they work to give you energy to start will, they then rapidly lead to fatigue. Listen to your body, get an early night and things will be brighter in the morning.

Wow ive never had an injection in the roof of my mouth. I want to stop having filling gs. My friend who is my age never has filling gs as her teeth dont seem to decay. She has some fillings but not had one in years

My dentist said stop eating sugar but my friend eats sugar. She said its not the sugar its the cleaning. She visits the hygienist every 3 months

It's to do with the chemical composition of your saliva and how much it supports the bacteria that destroys teeth. It's not a personal failing. All the brushing, flossing, mouthwash, limiting sugar etc is you doing your best to fight the bacteria, but ultimately some people's microbiome supports it and some lucky people's do not.

There are also people whose sweat doesn't smell because their skin does not support the bacteria that causes it.

My son has only 2 small fillings, lucky thing! An injection in the roof of the mouth is a bit more painful but not too bad. Not in my experience anyway!
