How would you spend this week in my shoes?

I am a senior manager and have the rest of this week off work. I start a promotion next week. If I’m being honest my current job is horrendous, and I could do with some more time off between roles to recharge/destress from it! But that wasn’t possible.

So, what should I do for the rest of week?

My new role is fully remote so staying at home, isn’t really appealing to me (plus neighbours have noisy building work ongoing, I couldn’t relax even if I wanted to stay home).

I feel like I need to make the most of my limited time off to do whatever I want! I was considering a trip to London although the weather isn’t great in London. But I think it would be nice to try and do something that might help me feel more refreshed, although I’m not sure what!

One day in a city for galleries, shopping etc, one day on a beach for a blustery walk, one day in a forest for peaceful walk and pub lunch!

The weather in London is gorgeous today, hop on a train. Mind you, I can’t work out you saying you could do with more time off but you don’t know what to do with the time you’ve got 🤷‍♀️

I'd do something completely different and find out if there's a 3 day volunteering option somewhere - or a 3 day last minute walking holiday - to see something new and meet new people and gain some perspective.

What's your budget? Can you get abroad? I would maybe look at the weather forecast and cheap flights for Southern Europe with interesting cities and do a mixture of museum/galleries, wandering around and eating nice food, chilling out.

Otherwise, UK break, I would do a mixture of nice places to walk around, either seaside/forest/nature or nice town like York or Brighton and nice food/things to do.
