Coffee machine?

Can you recommend a coffee machine please, bean to cup. I don’t know anything about these machines but looking to buy a gift. Probably £300 to £400 whilst the sales are on. To make cappuccino, espresso, americano, latte with milk frother etc. I’ve seen manual and automatic mentioned not sure how this works or what is best?

De Longhi Magnifica S range are excellent and in budget. I have one as do family and friends. Do everything you've said and can do small espresso to mug size.

Melitta cafe solo.

Recently bought The Breville Barista slimline machine. Very happy with it and makes great coffee. Black Friday deals coming up so worth waiting until then.

De longhi neo something - love it !

It’s actually called de longhi magnifica evo next . It’s fab- great range of coffees and can do beans or ground. Haven’t tried the latter so can’t comment on that

Melitta cafe solo.

This one is great. Pair it with some good beans like Monmouth.

De longhi eletta. Has an automatic milk frother. Good coffee; does all the different types. Easy to use and clean.

Had ours since Christmas 2023 and use it multiple times a day.

£428.00

slightly more expensive ,but you can get it on sale, is the de Longhi Rivelia, which I just replaced my old Autentica with. This one has dual hoppers, so you can exchange normal beans and decaf beans, or two different strengths of beans or whatever, and I really like being able to just swich to decaf so easily. And it has automatic milk frother.

De Longhi Specialista Opera - bought it as an upgrade from nespresso pods to bean-to-cup.

Wasn't the cheapest but bloody love it!

Also considered a Sage and came very close to choosing the Ninja one with the drip coffee option...

I love my Sage machine and always recommend it. They are amazing. Someone else mentioned Breville - Breville is called Sage in the U.K. (Breville is the Australian brand name which could not be used in the U.K. as the Breville trademark had been sold to someone else).

I actually started a thread on here abiut 6 months ago, I also joined some coffee enthusiast FB pages (🤣🤣)
The quality of grinder (and freshness of beans) is key apparently, as such I got separate espresso maker and grinder. A fully automatic bean to cup is less labour intensive but you dont the the control over the milk frothing etc.

Sage are a good brand - I got the bambino espresso machine but thr automatic bean to cup ones look good too

I’ve got the Sage Barista, I love it and it makes good coffee, but it’s time consuming!

Now I’ve got a LO, I’m regretting not having a fully automatic one that I can shove a mug under, press a button and a few minutes later there’s a decent cup of coffee waiting!
