All I'll say is you do have to get used to the feeling of blood trickling out of you though if you're normally a tampon wearer. I've worn tampons my whole life so the first few periods where I just wore the knickers overnight it toke me up a lot cos I'd feel it coming out. Now I'm totally used to it and sleep through the whole night :)

I stick them in the tumble dryer.

Thanks, Pearl - that does sound promising. I'll try a pair (probably sleeping on a pile of towels as backup).

On the radiator. Is this a trick question?

Peg them up on a sock dryer and hang them over a de-humidifier.

We have a de-humidifier with clothes horse anyway to speed up drying and stop moisture getting trapped in the house over winter. Does take a while for them to dry - though heating on helps obviously - and do with all house dried washing put on for extra spins in washing machine.

Dehumidifier all the way! Marvellous invention...

Radiator or the dryer

i always dry mine in the dryer and they’re just fine

PirateDays · 11/11/2025 12:56

Thanks everyone for answering me. I use a cup which I only have to empty morning and evening so was just wondering if the pants would be as effective, but it seems like not quite. Thank you!

Heated airer. Tumble drying will affect the absorbency over time.

HappyAsASandboy · 12/11/2025 16:54

I put them in the tumble dryer on low heat (my super simple dryer just has low heat or high heat and a timer!) in the winter and on the washing line in summer. They last ok. I just get cheap ones from Amazon though, so not too upset if they only last a year or two.

Heated airer and dehumidifier combo.
