How do I stop waking up feeling anger and dread?!

How do I stop waking up feeling anger and dread?!

Anyone relate?

As soon as my alarm goes off and / or even if I wake up naturally after a long and deep sleep, my initial feeling is pure anger and dread. It’s been going on since I was pregnant with my son who I now 17 months….

Although I most likely had antenatal anxiety / depression it evaporated as soon as my son was born and I absolutely delight in him. Apart from being exhausted and bored and times (which I think is farely normal) my life is pretty good; I have two healthy children, a thriving relationship and a job that I love.

Money can be a stress and sometimes kids / housework / day to day responsibilities get on top of me but no biggies….

I’m just wondering what I can do to wake up feeling better as it’s such a horrible jolt to start the day with.

I’m 37, so unlikely to be perimenopause….

Anyone else have this?! I think I’ve had it before I was pregnant too… but it’s been consistent since pregnancy and beyond and I am fed up with it 🤣

It might not be early peri but it does sound hormone related.

Before I went onto HRT I remember that feeling as soon as I was awake, it was like it 'flooded' over me.

Could you have a word with your GP?

Blood test? I have this waking up in the morning, not anger but anxiety and sadness and I recently found out my vitamin d is severely low. Worth checking?

I had this in my late 30s when my dc were young. I’d wake up feeling that there was no way I could face the day. I had CBT and citalopram which helped enormously.

I started doing a ten minute meditation in the morning. Pick one from you tube and listen to it as soon as I wake. It has helped to stop me waking up depressed. Maybe I’ve tuned my brain to a different expectation when I wake.

Does sounds just like perimenopause. Could be that your hormones are still a bit out of whack. But two of my friends had menopause at 40 so it’s not out of the question and worth asking.
the feeling went away from me once I started HRT. One of the many benefits.
