Could someone help me please or have been in a simular situation to me?

Ive recently tried to order something on amazon.co.uk like Ive done for many years, same account no issues ever. But this week ive had ordered cancelled and a email from amazon saying my account has been deactivated because it has been linked to an amazon.com account that has violated amazon's return and refunds policy.
Im.now concerned that someone on amazon.com has some of my details or billing information? How is this amazon.com account linked to mine?
Hiw can this have come about? Has someone stollen my information?
Does anyone know of a number i can call to speak to someone?
Ive contacted amazon.co.uk customer service on the phone but they couldn't help because amazon.com has closed the accounts not amazon.co.uk. I am a UK resident and have never used amazon.com
Im really concerned and worried plus I need to order my kids birthday presents off there.
Has anyone had similar or knows of a number I can call?

My phone pinged up this week with the authentication code whilst I was driving. So I know someone’s been attempting to hack mine.

I get a lot of attempted hacks on Amazon. So glad I’ve got 2 factor authentication. Have you looked at the order history on your account?

Yes no unusual orders on my side. Im just very concerned how my account has been linked to an account on amazon.com when I use amazon.co.uk. I have no idea what is going on and have still heard nothing back from anyone yet today. What information could this other account have of mine to link me with them? Im really confused and a bit stressed about it all now.

Are you sure the email about "amazon.com" is genuine and not an attempt at phishing? It sounds like the typical kind of phishing email to me.

Can you access your Amazon.uk account, change the passwords to strong ones and use two factor authentication if you aren't already?

Curlymam88 · 05/11/2025 18:15

Yes it is genuinely from amazon but amazon.com not amazon.co.uk. I emailed them again this afternoon and mentioned that ill have no choice but to contact citizens advice because im getting no information from anyone and dont know who to turn to for help. Within a couple of minutes I had an email saying its all been done in error!!!
I have no idea how this has all come about but it has been very stressful and frustrating and confusing too. But apparently I can now make orders on my account.
I've asked for a way to contact someone to make a complaint and to confirm no one has any information on my accounts.
