Anyone recommend a washer/dryer

Hi, have decided can no longer live without a tumble dryer but don’t have space for separate machines. Has anyone got a washer/dryer that they’d recommend and doesn’t take a million years to dry anything ?

I know it’s boring 😁

Are you able to stack a dryer over the washing machine ie do you have the space for that ?

I have a 9kg Samsung washer dryer which is decent, although we only ever use it for drying towels as we have a small vented one that we use for kids clothes etc. What will you be drying?

No room for stacking unfortunately

mainly drying towels and bed linen

Recently bought our first washer dryer ( integral in my newly fitted kitchen) after moving. We had a utility room before we downsized.
After a couple of failed attempts where it was on forever and items came out warm but damp we gave up just using it for washing now.
We’ve had to put a dryer in the shed and a maiden in the spare bedroom.

I had one years ago and hoped they’d improved

If you get a heat pump or condenser dryer, they don't need venting and you only need a plug socket for them, not a water connection. The water goes into a drawer thing which you pull out and empty manually. You might be able to fit one upstairs and empty it in the bathroom?

I had a miele one and even that was crap and it broke and they swapped it for separates.

I've used lots of makes as they tend to be in holiday cottages, you can only dry a half load, takes forever and the clothes come out really creased. Big fat no from me ,sorry!

I’ve got a John Lewis washer dryer - the model number is JLWD1614. It’s now nearly six years old and still working fine. I’m in a flat and don’t have any outdoor drying space so tend to put most of my laundry on airers then finish off in the dryer. Towels are always tumble dried straight from the wash cycle and come out perfectly dry.

Thanks Bertie but we really don’t have space for this

Thank you, I’ll check that out. Thanks for the model number too, really helpful

I’ve had two washer dryers (like you, for space reasons) and love them (no more scratchy towels).

My current one is 7kg maximum wash – but only 5kg maximum for drying, so if I do a big load I’ll take a few things out before I dry. That’s just how they work – if the clothes don’t have room to tumble, they stay wet. Loads of times I’ve seen people say washer dryers are crap, and you can tell by their complaint that they don’t understand this. Not saying there aren’t crappy ones out there but I do think user error plays a part.

My current one is an AEG 7000 series ProSteam 7/5kg which I bought direct from AEG. (Edited for sense)
