Does anyone have experience with a b&q return?

I made an online in October for 2 items on the 13th of October with delivery on the 17th of October.

I realised over the course of that weekend - the 18th/19th that it wasn't going to be suitable and also one of them was delivered cracked.

I made contact on the 20th of October for a return and refund. I don't own a car so I am unable to drive into a b&q shop which is some distance away from me.

Over the past two weeks I was given two 48-72 hour timeframe windows for collection but they have ignored this twice.

Any idea what way I can do now to get a return and refund?

I suspect possibly their plan is to drag it out for as long as possible and then tell me that the timeframe for returns is now closed. Or something. I don't know what their plan is.

But does anyone else have experience with returns to B&Q?

It doesn't take this long considering their delivery window is usually much shorter.

In my experience they drag it out.

I ordered garden furniture in May and a delivery date was specified. They delivered before that date when we weren’t at home, so had no opportunity to check the package. When we did look at it, it was clear it wasn’t what I ordered. I looked at the box again and the name and address was different to mine, as was the contents description.

I contacted B&Q immediately and was passed to the manufacturer. They insisted on photos taken of each side of the box, including the name and address of the intended recipient. There followed back and forth emails, until I was able to insist that they collect the wrong item and deliver the correct one.

Had they delivered on the day as arranged, we would have been at home and would have realised it was the wrong thing immediately.

Persevere!

Thank you for your reply. Did you get it sorted in the end?

I am thinking about threatening them with the small claims court.

Yes, they delivered the correct thing and took away the wrong one, but it took a while. The trouble is, the goods don’t necessarily come from B&Q, but your contract is with them, because you ordered it through them.

I would email them with an instruction to collect within a time frame of your choosing and let them know that you will be taking them to court for the refund if they don’t comply. Make sure everything is dated, so they can’t say you’re beyond the returns window.

Thank you for your reply back. It's disappointing it took a while for you.

I was told the goods that ordered from, came from a different b&q store within the country. I wasn't aware that maybe it could have been delivered from the manufacturer. I think maybe in my case it was delivered by b&q.

The ignored the second 48 to 72 hour window they gave me. So I sent another email to say that if I don't receive confirmation of a return and collection by tomorrow, I will be escaltaing to the small claims court. All they have to do is communicate with me a d give me a date for the collection after originally saying they will honour a return.

So I never got a response or a reply back. I did get an email and a message from a courier about a scheduled delivery but no delivery for today. I am wrecking my brains out thinking what could that be. I am waiting on about 2 deliveries but they are mail or post. It's just strange that's all. I expect maybe, the courier email and message mighty be about a collection instead of a delivery.

I haven't a clue. I don't have email from b&q yet. I don't even have any return or collection sticker or something to print out.

What am I supposed to make of that?
