Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.
I had another rotten night so I'm still in bed, wrapped up all nice and cosy, trying not to listen to Mr Dilemma bashing around in the airing cupboard just a few feet away. He is currently converting a single electric socket into a double socket so that we can have a pump fitted to the hot water outlet to increase the pressure, and thus the flow. Our (not that old, 1990s) house has had multiple extensions meaning that there is a very long way for the water to get to the kitchen and downstairs shower room, and the hot water pressure is dreadful.
We went to IKEA yesterday, for no particular reason, as our cleaner was here and it's really difficult to 'be' anywhere while she's working. We don't have any plans to go out today, thank goodness, as I'm knackered!
I think I will stew the plums from our tree which are in the freezer, and make a crumble. I'm still trying to create some freezer space. I've just asked Mr Dilemma if we can do a mini freezer audit - of just one freezer - and he's not very keen. I have increased the amount and variety of frozen veg we keep so I know that is taking up space, but otherwise I really don't know what we have in there! We have a fridge freezer in the kitchen, and TWO in the shed. I know what's in the inside freezer but Mr Dilemma is in charge of the shed freezers and just says he doesn't know what's in them... which is spectacularly unhelpful. He also keeps telling me we don't have any food - but surely the freezers are full of something! I think what he is thinking is that we don't have any food that he wants to eat. I know we have a big gammon joint and a turkey breast joint in there and I have plans for both of those. But what on earth is the rest of the freezer space full of! I know it's not bread or milk. If I ask him to get sausages out of the freezer he will say we don't have any.... Unless I say I will buy sausages when he will tell me we have loads in the freezer.
I have just asked him how much longer he thinks it will take him to do the socket. He said 2 hours!!!!! TWO BLOOMIN HOURS! It's really not that complicated - he says it wouldn't take as long if he didn't keep having to go and find tools. I 'suggested' it might be a good idea to get all the tools he needs together before he started.... apparently he doesn't know what he needs until he needs it! He has done masses of socket conversions - even I could make a pretty good guess as to what tools he will need - a couple of screwdrivers in various sizes, a wire stripper/cutter, a socket converter and back box, torch, and that's about it. It doesn't even have to look pretty as it's in the airing cupboard. So he probably won't be finished until lunchtime - then he will need his afternoon nap.
At least I will be able to work on the felt embroidered and beaded Christmas tree decoration I am making for him while he rests. I should be able to get most of it done today, but I will probably need to complete the beading at another time.
Our evening meal today will be something out of the freezer. Probably leftovers of some description - meaning something perfectly delicious that we had enough of to put the extra in the freezer. Mr Dilemma doesn't like leftovers. Of any description. On principle. Well he's jolly well eating them! I don't make him eat anything he hasn't had before and enjoyed.... So he can enjoy it again today.
I think I might take some of my really delicious vegetable curry out of the freezer for myself. I usually stir in some tinned tuna and I enjoy that very much. I don't actually like vegetables all that much, so it's a great way to ensure I eat them.
I think Mr Dilemma is going to be in a bad mood today - he's getting frustrated with the electric socket conversion - he doesn't want to do a freezer audit - and he won't want to eat 'leftovers'. It will be a very good idea for him to have a nice long afternoon nap I think! 😁
