Just wondering what time do you all usually get trick or treaters in your area? We’ve got tonnes of sweets but so far no one has come!

First group.of very little ones came at 3pm.
Half term always means an early start near us.
Then we had big rain and nothing since, our street is unusually quiet

Our first year not living in an area where parents would be mad to walk around after dark with the kids. It's been a learning curve. We are nearly out of sweets already and we had 4 giant bags of lollies etc. First ones came at 3:30 but out main flurry was between 5 and 6. I have been raiding the kitchen to see what else we can give out if the sweets run out.

I've had six sets so far, hoping for loads more! Last ones were surly boys with no costumes? But they only took two sweets each so it couldn't have been a full on smash n grab? 🤣

Some great costumes

We live in an area with many old people. I can't think who'd trick or treat here.

JulesJules · 31/10/2025 18:25

Our street is thronged with mini vampires and witches. Started around 6. They are all very polite. "I love your decorations, Happy Halloween, trick or treat" "May I take two? Thank you" Our "decorations" are some orange and white fairy lights, day of the dead bunting and a few plastic pumpkins haha.

Justcallmedaffodil · 31/10/2025 18:25

Most years we get between 50 and 100. I’ve just opened the second 50-pack of sweets, and it’s earlier than previous years so I can see us running out within the hour. DMum who lives only a few streets away (albeit on a much quieter road of mostly over-60s) gets hardly any, despite having lights/decorations and a pumpkin.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/10/2025 18:44

5-7 normally

TayOr · 31/10/2025 18:47

We had a few come but nowhere near how many we had the last few years which is a shame!

We don't get many, usually less than ten,

First one tonight was 5.45pm and 3 kids
Second knock 6.10pm and one child

AnonKat · 31/10/2025 18:52

Started at half 5 here! Soo many this year. Im heavily pregnant and husband is working away. So I managed 1.5 hours going to the door, now ive just stuck the bowl outside 🤣

We have quite a few organised Halloween parties in the city leading up to Halloween, and schools have parades and little parties.
Early evening yesterday, a Halloween dance for students and parents to dress up and attend.
Trick or Treating begins usually around 5-6; some kids come earlier, but not many. TBH not as many kids to the doors as in years ago; depends if you live in a well-populated area or not of course; last year we got 4, my sister got 81!

Soon turning the outdoor lights and pumpkins out - had 9 ppl in total but enough sweets for around 50!

Aren't their parents with them? Around here the upper age limit for T&T is year 6, so 10 or 11 and they are all accompanied by at leats one parent.

It’s hard to tell because it’s dark. I would say that the parents are often down on the pavement chatting and probably unaware that their kids are up at the front door being a little bit rude. And in some cases no, the kids have around eight or nine don’t come with parents. I turned away quite few teenage girls this evening in fishnet stockings and bras doing ‘sexy Halloween’.
For me the celebration is for the little kids and a nice way to get the neighbourhood to get to know each other. But I must admit I felt really anxious after I shut the door. The little kids were gorgeous and the older kids were intimidating. Even when I put a sign up saying ‘we’re all out, see you next year’ they hammered on the door shouting stuff. This is in a fairly yummy mummy part of london

I had about twelve all told. All very polite and all came with an adult. Then my grandsons arrived. They didn't stay long as they're little and we're tired. The pumpkin is in and the light is out. It's been a good Halloween. Last year I had nobody

NessShaness · 31/10/2025 20:12

I’ve had around 50, it’s the same every year I love it!

Figgygal · 31/10/2025 20:34

Was busy 5-7 here
My 13yo took the 9yo (we live in a village which is pretty good in supporting halloween)
Had around 50 kids in total

ClassicBBQ · 31/10/2025 20:40

This has been our busiest year yet. We've easily had over 200 and have run out of sweets. That's never happened before! They started just after 5 and I can still see people out now. We're hiding in the dark though because we can't be bothered to pop to the shops for more sweets.
