Visiting Lewes just after Christmas

DP and I are going to Lewes for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year. I'm expecting a lot of things will be shut but any recommendations of what to do and see? We're mainly interested in the excellent Harveys beer so pub recommendations for a pint and a nice dinner also very much appreciated. Thanks!

The castle and Anne of Cleeves House, Charleston in Lewes art gallery, film at the Depot. Shops and cafe/restaurant in the Needlemakers. Lots of good charity shops.

Nice walks in the area.
Train into Brighton for the day.
If you’ve got a car drive over to Charleston farm house, go to some of the little villages in the area. Alfriston is nice with a few great little pubs.

Charleston Farm House is really worth it. It’s about £20 in uber from Lewes.

No worries! The Rights of Man pub up by the war memorial is also great, and the Swan Inn at the other end of town.

If you get the train to Glynde there’s a lovely walk back to Lewes over the downs via Mount Caburn with the most amazing views, a quick google will give you the route. It’s about 6 miles and you come back down into Lewes by the Snowdrop.
