What’s this in child’s mouth?

Just visited the dentist for our 6 monthly check up’s & the dentist pointed out my DD has this little pink lump under her tongue. We didn’t know this was there & this doesn’t bother her at all & she said it’s not painful. She wants her back in two weeks to check it.

Does anyone know what this could be? (Picture attached)

It doesn’t look like an ulcer I don’t think & the dentist said it could be a saliva stone - although said she’s quite young to get that.

Thank you

I get these when I accidentally bite the wrong part and teeth slip. It goes away after a few weeks

I'm wondering if it could be a salivary gland stone stuck in there? I had one once, it came out during a meal, which tasted pretty disgusting. But I would expect a dentist to recognise that. Sucking on sweets to make your mouth water is supposed to encourage them to clear out.

I’ve had that when Ive stabbed myself in the mouth with a jaggy crisp that was at the wrong angle.

Why are you asking online when you've seen a qualified dentist who has given you their opinion and is monitoring it?

Check it for changing size, DD had something like this and it was a mucocele. It randomly filled with fluid and when it did it was quite sore. It eventually just went down and never filled
up again.

I had this and it was the salivary gland, I can't remember why it went like this but it went down after about 2 weeks x

@User0ne thanks for your helpful comment!

FYI the dentist was unsure herself & couldn’t comment very much therefore this is why I’ve decided to post about it asking for advice is that ok?
