Help! Who in London to help fit and set up a video doorbell and security camera?

I’m sure I’m not the only person who has struggled to install physically and set up digitally a Ring doorbell or similar (considering an Eufy one).

My ex set it up at our old house and it never worked quite right, now I’m by myself in a new area and really want someone to do it for me, so it’s easy to use on my phone and also easy to take the doorbell off to replace batteries if needed (both issues before).

Does anyone have a recommendation for an electrician or security company in South London who would do this kind of job?

I’ve tried googling and only found companies that either don’t answer the phone or look aimed at the super rich! Thank you in advance!

You can stick it to you door they have non screw fixings available (ring) and just connect to the internet. Then have a second camera attached somewhere.

Task rabbit i think xx

Our ring doorbell is attached to the door with an adhesive backing although we did have to buy a separate mount for it from amazon. You unscrew the front part to change the battery to charge it. The other cameras plug in indoors. We bought a spare battery as it takes a few hours to recharge

thank you @mumofoneAloneandwell I’ve never used Task Rabbit for help before- are there reviews of the people? Thank you!

thanks also @Sunshineandrainbow- we had ring for our last one and I found it tricky to use and hard to get on and off the fitting so hoping for something different this time.

I have used Task Rabbit, had a chap build my Billy Bookcase, he was great… really communicative before and after. Would definitely recommend them.

@VideoDoorBellConfusion yeah op, they have reviews of the person youd be hiring, kind of like Uber

The newer ring doorbells are now easier to remove. They come with a little orange tool that you can use to unclip the doorbell to charge it. They’re also much lighter and charge quickly using a USB-C charger. You cannot remove the battery like you could on the previous model. Which can be annoying, but charges quick enough.

I didn’t use any of the fixings that came with it. I used 4 large command strips (in black so not as visible) cut to size and cured them into place with a hairdryer. I then let the strips set for 30 mins before clipping the doorbell into the cradle. I’m sure I looked crazy whilst doing it! The doorbell has now been up for 10 months with no issues and never fallen down.

Amazing, thank you all! Maybe I need to be brave and tackle a new Ring one myself- and check out task rabbit. Thank you for the help!
(although if anyone can recommend a specific south london person or company , I’d still be interested!)

I know what you mean about the ring being tricky to remove from the mount, it does get easier after you have done it a few times. My biggest worry is dropping the tiny screws into the plant below it but I have seen the screws are easily available.

Hope you get sorted.

We didn't screw the case back on ours so we just slide front off, remove battery charge it and pop it back in. The screwdriver was a faff

Ditto Taskrabbit
