Coffee machines

For the past 20 years I’ve been loyal to Nespresso but now tiring of the taste of the pods. Would like a bean to cup machine which will produce barista tasting coffee. What are your recommendations?

We have that too. In fact we are on our second one since we got the first in 2009.
It's not that much more complicated than a bean to cup. We did buy a very expensive grinder which makes a lot of difference. And we have Pact coffee delivered.

I like Pact coffee and Rave too. I agree - once you get the hang of it it is straightforward

This

That dial is the amount of froth from small to large and a setting to clean the nozzle after use (our one at work has that)

I don’t know about the other spout in your pic. Is it just for hot water for tea or something?

I decided to go for a delonghi EC230 with a separate grinder. I mostly drink milky coffee. The espresso produced is good and it has a decent steam wand. It's one of the cheapest options but you do need a decent grinder to get the best out of it.

Ok I guess it’s trial and error which is best for me. Does it only deliver a certain amount of milk, depending on whether it’s a latte or cappuccino?

If it's like mine (same make, different model) you chose milk & froth setting, press OK then press OK again when you've got enough milk

Also when do I use this?

@ticktock19hi what is this used for? It fits where the milk frother fits (when you take frother off) see image below

Sage bean to cup

That little spout you put in where the milk frother goes I believe is the cleaning spout when you do a descale. We have the delonghi Prima Donna soul and it has that spout for descaling. Keep it safe for when it tells you it’s descaling time!

Where do you buy your descaling liquid?

I buy big bottles of kilrock in The Range.

Friend of mine who’s a barista has just got a Rocket Espresso. Looks very impressive. I’ve never heard of them before.

Me again! Does the milk carafe have to be in this position to attach or take it off the machine? Ta

Oops forgot the pic
i am enjoying the machine, but find the coffee isn’t as hot as from the Nespresso. And I’ve set it to high.

I always put mine in this position when I remove it so that it's in the correct position when I re-attach it.

This is for anyone with a DeLonghi Revelia. How do you use ground coffee in them? I can’t see anything in the instructions or the manual? I can see the scoop and I can see where you put it, but I can’t see on the screen which option to use and if I take the hopper off the top it asks me to put it back on help please.
