Your kids will be bored, theres not much to do in paris for kids other than disney.

What?! Op could fill all the time in Paris without going to Disney and keep the children entertained!

@MissScarletInTheBallroom if around champs is boring where do you suggest op stay ?

Re jardin de acclimation it's charming but will stuff be open

Also I've heard the neighbourhood isn't that great ?

@thetallfairy

I spent many years looking into Disney and found buying a year's pass was the best way to get some value out of disney and not be totally fleeces. Getting on rides is an art and finding your way around. It will take a day to get used to the two parks etc.

If you can easily afford it it's not an issue I guess

Otherwise a cheaper and some say superior experience perfect for those ages would be efterling in the Netherlands .
You could combine it with Amsterdam also.
For those ages I think efterling is better anyway

I've done both and Disney at Christmas was buzzy ,busy and fabulous especially the fake snow on main street but by that point we had been about 3 or 4 times on our pass and could navigate rides like pros.

Efterling is a story book come to life ,beats Disney hands down on atmosphere and more magical rides for younger children. The park is stunning at Xmas with extra entertainment and a huge ice skating rink indoors and out filled with tons of Xmas trees. .the accmd and food is far better quality also.

Off to google now

Thank you so much

Paris is my favourite city and I've been in every season, with and without kids.

I did euro Disney when my 2 were 9 and 6 and it was hard work in summer, never mind midwinter when they are going to be absolutely frozen. Lots of standing about, and getting more and more miserable.

The city again is going to be cold and possibly grey and wet. Most of the sights are outdoor so again, cold and miserable for DC.

Can you go later in the year?

Already booked

We have a lovely place to stay and will prob get loads of Ubers too

I went about 9 years ago for NYE, it was cold but not so freezing it was unpleasant.

Just be prepared for the fact that it could be very cold and/or wet so make sure you have the right clothes. I was once at Eurodisney when it was -7 and it was harsh!! I would definitely do a boat trip, my kids loved the boats in jardin du Luxembourg when they were younger. You could also research puppet shows, there is a doll museum and Musée Grevin on a wet day. Macarons and hot chocolate at Laduree if the budget stretches that far. Great views from top of galleries Lafayette which is free. Paris also does have lots of beautiful toy shops - which might be a blessing or a curse for your kids!! Hope you have a great time.

We went to Disney on 27th December, it was the busiest I’ve ever seen it. The queues were gigantic, I’d not commit to a further day. I’d do something else.

That's odd. It was a while ago but we went at New Year and it was almost deserted. We walked onto every ride. I remember DC loving some rides so much they got off and got straight back on again, no queues.

OP I strongly recommend you do some forward planning. Look at the Park site plan/map. Look at the rides. Discuss with DC which rides they most want to do. Get to the Park just before it opens and head straight for the rides they most want. That minimises queuing. Then once they have had a go of their favourite rides, just join the shortest queues.

Wtaf? There is loads - boats, museums, tower… cafes, parks, trails, family fun, plus tons more - if your children are bored unless they are at Disney then that’s really sad!

StarieNight · 25/10/2025 18:33

@StokePotteries was that the year norivirus took hold and wiped everyone out 🤣

I'm thinking one day may be enough for Disney?
One day chill and the rest exploring Paris

My sister considering this for her two @thetallfairy . Next year.

how long are you in Paris? What an incredible treat for the children to go straight after new year. Where will you be over new year with them?
