What would you do if you found these in your 14-year-old’s room? I’m so upset right now. Please help.

What active ingredients do they have?

Snard4 · 22/10/2025 19:35

It just says ‘cannabis flower’ on the front, and ‘contains cannabis’ on the back.

CBD or THC?

Snard4 · 22/10/2025 19:39

It doesn’t say, to be honest. Does that make a difference? It has a warning triangle on the front with ‘CA’, a little leaf and an exclamation mark on it.

It’s teen experimentation, treat it as you would if it was alcohol.

Snard4 · 22/10/2025 19:40

Is it easy to get hold of? He’s only 14! Who is he mixing with to be able to get this? I don’t know how to ever let him out ever again.

With alcohol, we’ve explained the dangers etc but I don’t know enough about this. I know I smoked weed a few times as a young adult and ended up having a horrible reaction which meant i never had it again. I cannot, under any circumstances, tell him this though.

Calm down. It’s most likely just cbd gummies. You can buy them in Holland & Barrett.

Take a pic and do a google search to find out more about the brand and if it has THC.

mindutopia · 22/10/2025 19:50

CBD doesn’t get you high. It’s in drinks you buy at Tesco. THC can, depending on what they’re actually made of and the quality.

More than likely, a friend has gotten them from an older sibling or parent or bought them off Instagram or TikTok (if THC). If CBD probably from your local petrol station.

You have a chat about them and take them away. My 12 year old went to a friend’s house and the friend offered her a cider. 😳 Which she sort of sipped at and then poured in a hedge. We had a chat about it and what to do next time. It’s not the end of the world and it can be a teachable moment if handled the right way.

You know enough to know the ingredient are unlisted, sales unregulated in the UK, and potentially could be poisonous.
Hazardous to pets and small children so not secured.
equally could be regular gummy bears and a waste of money.
How did he pay for this? Who and where did he purchase from (school contact or grounds).

reptilemad1985 · 22/10/2025 19:58

gummies can be bought legally as a form of pain relive online and in some chemists so I would not worry to much if its them he cant get high even though he may think he can

MNLurker1345 · 22/10/2025 20:26

He did not buy these from H&B! My DSis works in a PRU and the teens she works with make them and are stoned out of their heads all day. That’s just my take!

Hello again, and thanks for the replies.

i tipped out the bag on speaking to my son about this, and it’s not gummies but some kind of stuff that you crumble and put in a joint and smoke. Flavoured cannabis? Anyway, we told him how freaking dangerous it is as a 14 year old to smoke this shit, plus let’s be honest, you have no idea what’s in it!

He said it makes him feel calm. He’s diagnosed adhd but we have started meds. I said maybe the meds aren’t working well enough for him. I was worried about him self medicating, hence starting meds in the first place.

i just feel so out of my depth with parenting teens these days.
