Meditation App Recommendations

I’ve recently found that I cannot deal with my stress levels.

Most days, I’m absolutely knackered after work, worried about bills, kids/ex issues, work issues, elderly parent issues, work, aging doggos and insurance won’t help issues, and did I mention work?

I get home, get everything sorted and then worry about it all. I open the fridge and pour myself wine. Used to be a Thursday/Friday only thing. Now it’s every day.

Before life got like this, I only ate good food, exercised daily, etc., but more importantly, I practiced meditation/yoga. I don’t remember the meditation specifics at all. Yoga, yes, I can get into any pose that comes to mind. Meditation used to help me so much, always a great easy way to feel good.

Mentioned this to a friend and she said to get a good app and get back into it. Sounds easy, but there are so many, I am flummoxed.

Anyone got a recommendation?

I’d prefer if it was free, but as long as it’s not a subscription, I don’t mind paying (within reason!)

Headspace is good, does more than guided mediation and guided meditation for specific things eg sleep, work stress, longer or shorter ones. You get limited access for free which is good for getting a sense but really need to subscribe if you want regular use & variety.

Have also heard good things about Aura but haven’t tried it myself

Thank you. Have heard of Headspace, but only for younger people. Will have a rummage and see.

Aura does look interesting!

If you want I have a link for 60 days free peloton app
it has meditation, yoga, Pilates, stretch classes etc etc

or the calm app (buy a can of strawberry Trip drink and it gives you 3 months free calm premium!)

Not wanting to derail the thread but Classic fm calm helped me through a traumatic period last year. No talking just music which helped quieten all the noise in my head.
its still my go to if I’m feeling stressed.

Another vote for Headspace. It’s for any age. I’m in my 60s and have been using it for over a year now. There is so much on the App and I love the guided meditation sessions.

Insight Timer is free. You can skip the payment page. I use it every day. There’s loads on there.
