Gift Ideas

Hi, my daughter has her 11th birthday and Christmas within days of each other and I’m really struggling with gift ideas!!

She has a phone / iPad / PC
She loves the theatre, but has seen the big shows she wanted to.

Shes had hair, make up and skincare, but in honesty shes not fussed.

She loves fashion design, but already has a sewing machine and does lessons.

I’ve asked her, and she says “nothing particular”

I’m at such a loss!!

How about "young drivers" driving experience. My 11 year old really loved her lesson. You can take a few friends and make a party of it...

Does she enjoy reading?
There's lovely hardback editions of Puffin Classics available.
To be honest if there's nothing she particularly wants at the moment I would just buy a few small things (favourite sweets, books, smellies, cute socks etc) and put the money you would have spent aside for when she does particularly want something.

Brilliant idea, however her GD has been letting her drive on his private fields for over a year!

She does love to read, and I do love these books (I’ve bought them as gifts previously). I’d forgotten about them tbh, so will delve into the catalogue, and see what I can find. Thank you!

ps I completely agree, there’s no point buying for the sake of it - it’s my “mum guilt” that makes me feel I need too!

Does she play an instrument? I’m getting my daughter her first electric guitar. I’ve also got jewellery for her

Piano, which we have. Jewellery, I was going to wait another year for secondary, as her primary school has a strict “no jewellery”
policy 😔

I’m so sorry all, it sounds like im being really difficult - I wish she was into the branded bits, as at least they can be replaced as they outgrow / use them!!

If she loves fashion, what about a days window shopping round all the really expensive posh shops, then maybe let her loose in one of the more affordable ones like Zara, river island. Then lunch/afternoon tea? So essentially a mum and daughter day of lots of lovely treats?

Does she have any favorite artists? You can check out their websites and stores, usually there are things like clothes, perfume, accessories, etc. Something "official" will always be a hit for a fan, however, there are plenty of fanmade items as well. If there are many of them, you can choose one and get her something from their store and make posters from photos of others and print them out (here is a tutorial on that) if she likes posters and things like that.
