Ruggable - Rugs that are machine washable - are they worth the cost?

I fancy a rug from ruggable but I didn’t realise quite how expensive they were!

So either can you tell me they are worth the money or has anyone found other machine washable rugs at a better price?!

Dunelm do washable rugs. They don't have the cushion underneath but wash really well and are hugely cheaper than Ruggable. Do like the Ruggable designs though so may splash out at some point!

Also following. I think they are so expensive for printed fabric, I believe they aren't like a proper rug?

I've just bought a gorgeous rug from Wayfair. I'm really happy with it. Mines not washable but they had lots that were.

There seems to be super thin ones then the all in ones which are still quite thin which makes sense I guess if it can fit on the washing machine.

Following. A friend has a ruggable rug and it is fab but ouch at the price.

Do they really fit into an average washing machine?

Sailawaygirl · 20/10/2025 14:33

I have two. Mainly cause I really like the prints. But I do feel like they are at least £80 over priced! But they work really well in kitchen and high foot fall areas. Also easy to hoover as no pile. Mine washes OK but it's a pain to put back on its sticky mat at first. I always do a prewash as well.

Effram · 20/10/2025 14:33

I have one and really rate it. The rug is thin so really does fit in the washing machine and washes so well, but it comes with a thick velcro backed cushioned pad that you stick it onto. If you want a new rug you obviously wouldn't need a new pad too you could just buy the top.

I had a problem with mine (it got a small stain I couldn't remove) and I wrote to ruggable just asking if they had any secret cleaning suggestions, and they immediately sent out a replacement at no cost.

So I whole heartedly recommend for quality and customer service!

Hug a Rug - much cheaper than Ruggable and also machine washable.

cocoloco12 · 20/10/2025 17:43

I got ours on ebay...the same as our local rug store was selling for much more £££. They are very thin though but was needed due to the dog.
