Is Cook Food worth the money?

I’m thinking of filling my freezer with some Cook Food meals. I’ve had 1 or 2 some years back when the local garden centre stocked them but it’s been some time so I can’t recall what I thought of them. I’m disabled and under a lot of stress at the moment and my nerve damage and mental health have been an even bigger issue than normal so I need something I can just throw in the oven as opposed to Hello Fresh meals which don’t work for me when my nerve damage flares up.

TIA

I think they are good, some of them good value eg the lamb shanks although the veg works out expensive. I really like Charlie Binghams but I think cook are closer to hoemcooked.

@1apenny2apenny good to know about the lamb shanks. My husband wants shanks or something similar for Christmas dinner. I’ll take a look at those.

@Florencesndzebedee I’m also very happy to hear they have porchetta too! I love porchetta!

I think they are the best ready cooked meals. They aren’t all high calorie. Some are but plenty aren’t. My elderly Mum has them a lot. They are expensive but the amount of protein is decent. They are good sized portions.

We don’t have a cook branch where we live, but have eaten and enjoyed their meals on self catering holidays. TBH the extra, extra cost was excused as a holiday treat/guilty pleasure.
As others have said have a look at M&S, (we love the Moussaka for example in their pub-grub range) and compare value.
You don’t need an excuse though whatever you decide, do what you need to do to make your life easier.

I really like them and we keep our freezer stocked. Our local Co-op has a permanent three for the price of two offer which makes them pretty good value - esp compared with Co-op’s own brand stuff which is often horrible,
