Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The cats have gone back to bed after breakfast & wandering round shouting 🙄. I'll move shortly to take my tablets, then sort them for the next week, and wash up the few pots there are.

Our plans for the day are to dye dd1's hair this morning - she's awake so hopefully soon! Then bake brownies with dd2 before we cook an early roast. We're having gammon with cauli cheese and carrots at dd1's request 😋. With the brownies for afters.

Dd1 needs to pack her case with the washing I brought home last weekend, and a bag with the leftover Chinese she wants to take, and dd2 has homework to finish off.

Once dd is safely on her train, it'll be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, an hour with my book and then bed, ready for the last four days of term 🥳.

Afternoon @lucysmam & The Sunday Crew. Late again! It’s been a lovely day so far. DH & I had a cuppa in bed at about 7, made by me. Sunday mornings on the weeks that we’re both not working are some of my favourite times. Did the dishwasher & put on a load of washing when I got downstairs at around 9. Pottered for a bit then DD16 asked to go for a drive. She’s had a really tough week with her mental health plus still struggling with the tail end of a cold. It was really foggy so we started to head for home after a little while but then DD looked on a weather app & it was due to gradually clear. We have some of our best chats in the car & ended up having one of those daft conversations which just escalates - crying with laughter!! It was really lovely ❤️ DD requested Maccies & had medium fries plus a caramel iced frappe. Back home I cleared the draining board then washed some pots that can’t go in the dishwasher. Currently nibbling cocktail sausages & debating whether to have cold pizza for lunch or a sandwich. The sun’s come out so if it lasts, I’ll probably go for a walk. Nice easy tea of Thai chicken stir fry (defrosted some cooked chicken overnight & have red pepper, mangetout, baby corn & a sachet of Thai stir fry sauce plus noodles). Will watch the Strictly results tonight then maybe a film.
