I generally buy him some tool. He likes those. About £100 then about £60 for his stocking. He's better at thinking up gifts for me than I am for tho king of things he'd like but once I splashed out and got him a £600 bean to cup coffee machine which he loves and uses every day and once a Tag Huer watch over £2500 but for his 60th birthday.

When DC were small we didn’t give Christmas gifts to each other and birthdays were usually something we needed. Spend at least £100 now, more if we include going out for a meal.

What will you spend 3.5k on

I'm doing a whole week of birthday fun and treats which will include:

Full body health check. Romantic. 😂£2.5K.

Tasting menu meal. £300.

One-on-one training session with a well-known former professional athlete. £200

Ordering in fancy versions of his favourite foods. £150.

A mock-up kids birthday party (long story!). £100.

A few little presents. £50-100ish.
