I don’t think she knows and nobody else has said anything. They’re black but you can see everything through them and I don’t know whether to tell her!

I have someone I work with who is in quite a senior role and she wears the tightest, cheapest clothes imaginable. You can see every lump and bump of her cellulite and the colour of her knickers - everything. It's especially bad when she wears flesh coloured trousers and a black thong. It's impossible that she doesn't realise but just why?

OP, I think you should tell her tactfully and I think less tact is required in my situation.

Take her to one side privately and say to her exactly how you told us, "please don't take this the wrong way because I would want to be told as well, your trousers are quite see through and I'm not sure you're aware of this. If you are, I apologise for bringing this up but if you're not I thought you should know"

I have told my colleague. She is very overweight and wears leggings which are a size too small and cheap. I saw her Mickey mouse knickers and quietly told her that i could see them. She shrugged and did nothing. I still see them.

I worked with someone in 1992, she was I think in her 50s and she wore white blouses and black bras. She must have known it could be seen unless she didn't have a mirror at home.

Perhaps not a good look. But disgusting is over the top.

I think a lot of people think that black and navy are safe colours as they are dark but modern styles such as tight leggings combined with cheap low density fabrics are quite often see through. I think a lot of women are unaware of how these pants become see through in sunlight or bright indoor lights.

Would you be happy to look at rolls of fat and cartoon character knickers through cheap leggings? There are standards to work clothes in an office. She doesn’t reach them.

Same here on a night out once. It was a couple of girls who I think were trying to be mean rather than kind, they said “we can see your bum” and I said “I know, isn’t it nice?” and walked off.

Sometimes it is deliberate, particularly when young with a nice figure.

Exactly. Leaving a used sanitary towel on the toilet floor (it happens) is disgusting, going to the loo and not washing your hands is disgusting, children living in poverty without enough to eat is disgusting. Knickers on show is a fashion faux pas, not disgusting.

Although few days ago I saw a school aged girl’s bum cheeks and white panties underneath her black tights… I wasn’t sure if that was deliberate so I get the dilemma.

By all means tell her about the trousers but do not mention her underwear. You'll end up in HR. It's completely inappropriate to talk about a colleagues underwear. I'm really surprised to hear people suggesting it.
