How to get teen DC’s attention when they’re upstairs & have headphones on?

I’m currently getting annoyed with the DC who are increasingly wearing their headphones when they’re in their rooms and so can’t hear me calling them or even hear me knocking on their doors. I sometimes message them on their phones but that doesn’t always work. I can’t be the first person to have this issue so I am hoping there is a simple solution I am missing. We don’t have and don’t want to get an Alexa or similar.

Turn off the WiFi?

😂 you’ve just reminded me of a time I did this….

It didn’t go down well, and my ‘not so dear’ teen took the router to school with them the following day, returning it with a sarcastic “annoying isn’t it” 😡

I can laugh about it now and feel better now when they admit to being an arse as a teen!

A fucking massive gong

Sorry, I laughed too much at this. Now thinking about Agatha Christie. And what my poor neighbours would do.

Is there an app or game that they are communicating with their mates on? I have a friend who messages her daughter on discord and those notifications are always seen :)
