I’ve been buying cheap “AirPods” for about £14 and they consistently go wrong. I want to use them every day on my dog walks so am prepared to pay more for some better quality ones.
I mainly use them for audible, podcasts..rarely for music.

Any ideas?
A friend has the Samsung air buds and speaks highly of them.

I have soundcore earbuds and they have been excellent. I think I paid about £50 for them a couple of years ago. I use them for a few hours everyday listening to audible. They have a noise cancelling function which is ok but not Bose quality obviously, but that isn’t what I want.
They work well for music too.

I have some Mixx stream buds that were less than £20 from Boots - they work perfectly and that battery lasts ages.

My DH had similar issues with cheap ear buds. I bought him some Sennheiser from John Lewis and they’ve lasted well and he likes the sound quality. Come with a 2 year guarantee too. £100.

I have a pair of Sony WF-C510. All the other ones I've had are either uncomfortable or fall out, but these are great.

Have a look at the JLabs products, they are pretty good and often cheapest on their own website. I've just bought my second pair, not because anything went wrong with the first ones, but I lost one of them. Particularly recommended because they fit my little earholes!

Edited to add I paid about £32 for a not the bottom of the range noise cancelling pair.

I also have soundcore ones. I have ditched the rubber bit around the earbuds that probably blocks out more sound but I found it was always falling off and annoying. Without it they're good, never randomly turn on in my bag and blast meetings with detective novels and battery lasts ages.

Another vote for Soundcore. I have the C30i models for when I’m out and about walking as they let in some external sound and I like to be able to hear a bit of my surroundings. I also have the P20i model which have good noise cancelling.
Battery lasts for ages on both models and they’re great value.
