I have a dinosaur in my toilet

A tiny green triceratops to be exact. And yes... I accidentally weed on it.

The culprit could be the one year or the eight year old. Both equally likely in their own special ways. The one year old is a law upon himself but I can't think of when he has been left unattended long enough to commit such a crime. The eight year old wouldn't have done it on purpose, but he's notorious for carrying small objects everywhere. One may have taken an ill fated plunge. Then again the culprit could be me. Perhaps he was waiting in my pocket, for the perfect great escape.

Now I'm faced with the hygienic matter of how I get him out? Do I

A) sacrifice the kitchen tongs and then burn them afterwards?
B) Do I flush and risk a plumbing disaster?
C) I will not use my hands.
D) Do we now just accept that our tiny green friend now resides in the toiletpool.

Did the airpods survive?! Shock

I’ve had an AirPod survive the dunking and an iPhone.

Dontsayyouloveme · 15/10/2025 22:34

i dropped my mobile in the loo after I’d had a wee! Got it out and ran it under tap to clean it. … until I realised what I was doing 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

this isn’t as witty as you think

Years ago on here this would have been such a fun thread. Now you get ‘piss off you try-hard’ vibes everywhere you go on MN.

No it wouldn’t. No one ever laughed at anything that wasn’t funny just for the sake of it. I’ve been here years.

QuickPeachPoet · 15/10/2025 22:41

Given that you have two children and have therefore touched far worse than your own watered down pee, why can't you just fish it out and wash your hands?

Maybe the OP is making a light-hearted post?
It was very imaginative and well written I'm guessing it was just a bit of banter?
It's hard to believe someone would really ask others how to retrieve a toy out of a family toilet bowl that's just been weed in.😂
If I'm wrong, then the first few posts are what I would be saying too FFS!

It's hardly Dickens.

Posters were funnier and more up for silliness. Now it’s a race to see who can be the most superior and po-faced.

I'm afraid he lives there now OP 🤣

How do you change your baby's nappy?

weekitty · 15/10/2025 23:09

When I first got my kitten ( 14 weeks) he was fascinated with the toilet. Always tried jumping in when we opened the lid or were sitting on it. One day I just finished a wee, stood up to flush and I see this grey ball of fur hurtling into the toilet. I was in shock because I checked up on him before going to the toilet, he was fast asleep and snoring! I quickly grabbed him and straight in the bathtub he went. He was never interested in it again, it’s been 6 years.

True.
OPs post was not a literary wonder but I wonder how anyone could read that and not think it was someone taking the literal piss 😆

Overtheatlantic · 16/10/2025 03:03

I thought it was cute and well written. This is where you need either to a) get over your squeamishness or b) get the 8 year old to fish out the dinosaur 😁

Posters were funnier and more up for silliness. Now it’s a race to see who can be the most superior and po-faced.

However, you say posters were funnier…. exactly!!

ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird · 16/10/2025 06:54

What a lot of foolishly harsh reactions to a lighthearted post.

And to those who say it wasn't funny enough to deserve to be treated without hostility, isn't it normal to just not laugh and scroll on by if you don't find something funny? Since when do unfunny remarks have to be punished?

Sometimes first posts do nail it, other times they are just angry people spotting someone who is still alone on a thread and mocking them.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 16/10/2025 06:56

Alas, poor Whimsy! I knew him…

MN can be odd. It’s 50/50 whether you fish the dino out and wash your hands and dino with soap, or whether you use tongs and gloves and bin them in a hazardous waste bag.

Comeonbabylightmyfire · 16/10/2025 06:59

We’ve had to get a variety of dinosaurs out of different places. We always check before having a wee just in case we find a weeosorous.

Comeonbabylightmyfire · 16/10/2025 06:59

Btw isn’t this how Jurassic Park starts??
